CONFERENCE BACKGROUND
This conference seeks to draw together and highlight recent
developments within the social sciences and related disciplines that
offer an account of human activity that transcend purely
individualistic or structuralist accounts of the human condition.
Increasingly, psychologists, sociologists and many others, are
recognising that a full account of social activity necessitates an
explanation in terms of both the person and the world that this
person inhabits. It is towards an understanding of this social world
that this conference is addressed.

SUBMISSIONS
Although this conference has been organised around a number of
themes (Identity, The Self, Social Cognition, Agency/Structure,
Social Constructionism, Multi-disciplinary methodology,
Individual/Society, and Postmodernity and Society), papers that
reflect the title of the conference but cannot be readily
categorised in terms of these themes, are also welcomed. In this
sense the themes should be viewed as suggestive rather than
prescriptive.

All papers will be reviewed for submission.

ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY NO LATER THAN 27th JANUARY 1995.

INDIVIDUAL PAPERS (30 minutes)
