Dear Lynn:
I have a few references for you regarding your quieries on content
analysis:

Landfield, A.W. & Epting, F. (1987). Guidelines for hypothesizing
about content. In Personal Construct Psychology, NY: Human Sciences
Press.

Landfield, A. W. (1971). Personal construct systems in psychotherapy.
Chicago: Rand McNally

The first one is a good framework for considering content. The
second is an early version of an attempt at content categorization.
It is complex, but we have used it with some success with children's
responses on grids.
