Bill,

I'm sorry that you thought I had stopped studying your model. I'll look
for my last note to you and post it to you privately. Right now I have a
basic of piece of information missing that I need in order to interpret
your note on Death Threat & Community of Selves. The grids, whether
yours or someone else's have numbers in them. How are these numbers
gotten? Are they ranks? After you answer my more specific questions
here, I'll go back to your original note and respond specifically to that
one.

But first, I want to request you replace the word "bandwagon grid" with
something else. That's a loaded term I don't want to perpetuate, and I want
us to be talking about the same thing. Can you choose a more objective
term for the other group's grid? Can you humor me on this?

Now, to help me understand the grids, (and I know you say this one isn't
yours), would you please tell me what the "1" for the coordinate a/a
means? Can you explain the underlying operations? Is the subject ranking
the Dead/Dying self on a list of constructs? That the subject provides
when you ask a specific question? Or is this the subject's own ranking?
Or a calculation. Could you explaina? How are your numbers differently
derived?

a:Dead/Dying
Self, b: Living Self, c:Validated self, d:
Fulfilled Self, e: Self at Rest, f:
Challenged Self, g: Fragmented Self,
41%Fulfilled Self, e: Self at Rest, f:
Challenged Self, g: Fragmented Self,
h:Threatened Self i,e.:
a.b..c...d....e.....f...... g........h.
The Other Group's Grid and Death Threat
a b c d e f g h
a 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
b 2 1 3 4 5 6 7 8
c 2 3 1 4 5 6 7 8
d 2 3 4 1 5 6 7 8
e 2 3 4 5 1 6 7 8
f 2 3 4 5 6 1 7 8
g 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1

You say:
[Here]... death is at the center of the
core, with more unpleasant selves
shoved progressively to the periphery.

In response, I ask you to explain how "more unpleasant self" is defined? Is this just a
casual observation, or a technical one?]

a:alive self
d:Fulfilled Self f:Challenged Self
c:Valid Self h:Threat Self
e:Self at Rest g:Frag Self
b:Dead Self
a b c d e f g h
a 1 2.5 4.5 6.5 8 6.5 4.5 2.5
b 2.5 1 2.5 4.5 6.5 8 6.5 4.5
c 4.5 2.5 1 2.5 4.5 6.5 8 6.5
d 6.5 4.5 2.5 1 2.5 4.5 6.5 8
e 8 6.5 4.5 2.5 1 2.5 4.5 6.5
f 6.5 8 6.5 4.5 2.5 1 2.5 4.5
g 4.5 6.5 8 6.5 4.5 2.5 1 2.5
h 2.5 4.5 6.5 8 6.5 4.5 2.5 1

Could you explain more operationally how your figures are gotten? Are
these ranks? Ranks of what?

..Lois Shawver
