PARSING SOFTWARE and TEXT ANALYSIS GENERALLY

Hi

Further to G S Hamilton's query and Travis Gee's reply: I've
been looking for parsing software for some time (by this I
understand a prgram that can recognise/tag the parts of
speech in a text - verbs, nouns, etc.). Is this what you are
discussing and if so may I ask how to get hold of the
software?

I'd appreciate any help also with the following query: I get
the drift from what you're saying that PCP can be used in
research interview transcript analysis. If so, are people
using PCP in documentary analysis of any written text
generally? if so, historic documents, too? and if so again,
is there any link here into critical discourse analysis (with
e.g. submerged poles as the 'non-available' discourse - [wild leap here
...])

It's early days and I'm trying to get a feel for the scope of
PCP application and would welcome any help.

Many thanks

Daragh
