Hi,
As a new member of the list I though I would introduce myself before =
asking for some information.
I first discovered PCP during my undergraduate psychology studies at =
Surrey University, UK, in 1977/78 when Don Bannister visited as part of =
his work at that time with Peter Stringer who taught social psychology. =
Compared to much of the curriculum, PCP was a flash of insight and =
relevance and I had no doubt that a constructivist approach to cognition =
and interpersonal meaning was important enough to actually remember!
Sure enough, 20 years later, with a career in social work, and embarking =
upon PhD studies to explore continuing professional development for =
social workers in the UK I have revisited PCP and, of course, it is even =
more relevant now that I need a conceptual framework to explore =
inter-personal and professional understanding, meaning and engagement in =
lifelong learning - or 'elaboration of professional constructs'.
What I would find particularly helpful right now would be if there were =
'hands on' entry level training courses available in the UK that are =
designed to provide opportunities for 'kick-starting' novitiates like me =
into the basic uses of grids - either pen and paper or computer software =
packages. If there are no training courses then a distance learning =
package that aims to provides the same outcome would be the next best =
thing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry Cooper.

Ps. Thanks for the message, Pam.
