The process is more or less identical to the way in which a grid would be
used to develop performance appraisal rating scales (indeed, in my more
casual moments I wonder, once the fashionable cant has been taken into
account, what the difference between performance indicators and
performance appraisal really is, but let that pass). The use of grids for
this kind of thing isn't being written about much these days, but you
might find a couple of old references useful:

Stewart V. & Stewart A. _Business Applications of Rerpertory Grid_ McGraw
Hill 1982: out of print but a decent library should either have it or get
it in for you.
Jankowicz A.D. "Applications of Personal Construct Psychology in Busienss
Practice" in Neimeyer G.J. & Neimeyer R.A. (Eds.) Advances in Personal
Construct Psychology, Vol. 1, pp. 257-287. Greenwich, Conn.: JAI Press
Inc. 1989: a reveiw article which cites several authors and examples.

Valerie Stewart's website may have something on this and related topics,
too?
