Several issues definitely need to be referred back to the WWW
link type model, I agree. In particular:

- how is any behavior beyond 'goto (HREF)' to be supported in
links ? How exactly are link attributes translated to function
calls, remote or otherwise, to implement this special behavior ?

- how are link types defined as first class network-accessible
entities ? Is there a 'link URI' ?

- what aspects of link type naming can be standardized across
the various WWW formats, and can we have *one name space*
for these behaviors that documents in *any* format can use ?
