Scenario #3

The following scenario will demonstrate how additions of staff members can be done simply using the Hospital Scheduling System. As an example, assume that two new staff members have been hired, one doctor and one nurse. First, we shall enter the doctor into the system.

To begin, click on the Staff Information button on the main menu bar located at the top of each of the primary system screens (eg. the patient, staff and ward information screens). This will allow you to proceed to the staff information screen where staff additions, modifications and deletions can be made. Once there, click on the Doctor button to specify to the system that a new doctor is to be added. The cursor will be located at the topmost entry field. Fill in the doctor's last name and once finished press either the Return/Enter key or the Tab key. The cursor will then be moved down one field in the form to the first name field. As fields are entered the cusor will descend the form until the last field has been filled. Each of the labels located alongside the entry fields describe which information is to be provided. This can be also be done in any order desired by clicking on each of the fields and entering the information one by one. Note: this is also useful in making corrections to any of the staff field entries by selecting the incorrectly filled field with a click on that field. Once all of the text fields have been filled in click on the O.K. button to enter the new doctor into the hospital system.

Next we wish to enter the newly hired nurse. Since we are already on the staff information screen, we can continue with new staff additions. To clear the already entered doctor information and continue on a fresh form, click on the New button. Now, click on the Nurse button to specify to the system that a new nurse is to be added. Once again, the cursor will be located at the topmost entry field. Fill in the nurse's last name and once finished press either the Return/Enter key or the Tab key. Continue this entry process as previously specified in the paragraph above. Once all of the text fields have been filled in click on the O.K. button to enter the new nurse into the hospital system.

From here you can continue to do any other desired tasks by selecting from the options provided by the main menu bar, or adding other staff members into the system.
