Electronic Book Technologies DynaText

Electronic Book Technologie's DynaText is an on-line documentation tool that uses hypertext technology along with the SGML to produce electronic books. These books can be displayed on a computer monitor or printed on a computer printer.

Screen Snapshot

DynaText uses a menu bar and an icon strip to control all the functions of traversing a document. The icon strip contains icons to search, traverse, and store the results of any search criteria entered by the user. It also contains functions to retrace steps, copy the SGML text, and insert links and notes. Notes and links that are entered can be stored as private (only the user creating the note or link can use it) or public (every user can view the note or use the link).

The main working area in DynaText is divided into a Table of Contents (TOC) and a Document Viewer area. The TOC area can be used by the user to quickly jump to certain areas in a document or a suite of books. At the bottom of the work area, the user can type in key words by which the program will perform a search. The viewing areas can be zoomed in or out to a suitable size for the monitor used to view the documents.
