There are many other types of electronic publications that has not been discussed, doing so would be too much to read. But this should give you a good overview on the types of electronic publications there are in electronic form.
With so many people having access to a computer, and with virtually unlimited storage capacity, electronic publishing is only going to gain momentum.
There are some considerations that one must be wary of when engaging in electronic publishing. Readers are more or less forced to read the publication in a linear form, but they don't have the paper bulk to contend with. Tools to produce electronic publications has to be easy to use. If you are updating your page daily, ie. USA Today, then the tools you are using had better be damn easy to use. Copyright infringement is another issue. Even with a copyright disclaimer, it is still very easy to save whatever you want onto disk. Is the publisher willing to risk the material being pirated ? And how do you enforce such laws ?

Final thoughts:
I did most of the research from the
web, cruising around and trying to find information on various
kinds of electronic publications. I also sent email to various
electronic publishers asking for their views as well, and they
were most helpful.
I also used some information from Jan. 1996 issue of Maclean's magazine, regarding reading material being placed on the Internet.
