Your colleague may find the following reference of some interest:

Adams-Webber, J. (1985). Self-other contrast and the development of
personal constructs. Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science, 17, 303-314.

We administered repertory grids to 1,105 children and adolescents
aged 8 to 18 years (579 girls and 526 boys).
