Indeed, I should have placed markers around EVENT and EVENTS
OUT THERE -- e.g.; "event" and "events out there." That is, we need to
recognize that the term "an event" signifies, in itself, a construction.

Thanks for keeping us on our toes [a metaphor, I happen to be
comfortably seated -- at least I now successfuly construe "my self" in
that position].
