I hope that this does not make things more confusing but in my
research on change in teaching I have found that it is not only a
knowledge of HOW to change but having a knowledge of an alternative
position, possibility, idea, strategy, to change TO.

My premise being that if people do not know of/recognise somewhere
else to move to (at least in their heads), as well as the desire to
move - i.e. that the new place might be in some way better, not only
can't they change - but why should they?
