I think you could find this book useful. Is a very good review of the
status of psychotherapy research with children. The authors emphasize
the interface between clinical practice and research: 
        Shirk, S. R., & Russell, R. L. (1996). Change processes in child
psychotherapy. The Guilford Press. New York.
