There should have been a &sbsp; entity ("soft-break-space", similar to
­), but unfortunately there isn't. We could define one ourselves,
in the "HTMLlatin1" or the "HTMLicon" set. In Unicode it maps to the
zero-width space (hex 200B, or something like that).
