I very much agree; other platforms such as Macs and DOS/Windows should
have standard locations and defined semantics for mailcap files so
that mappings could be shared and maintained in only one place.

Currently these things only exist under UNIX and, based on previous
events, I'm not sure anybody in the world other than me and Nathaniel
have a serious interest in mailcap definitions. Should have had a
mailcap BOF in Chicago. :-)
