Remove a Borrower
Purpose:
- This next section deals with removing a borrower from the
library database.
How to Use:
- To remove a borrower from the library database, move the mouse
over the "Borrower Administration" menu option, at the
top of the screen. Select, using the mouse, Remove a borrower
from the menu window. This will result in the Remove Borrower
window to be opened on your computer screen. You can enter in
any combination of fields that will specify a unique borrower.
Since removing borrowers is rather rare, it is strongly recommended
that you ensure that the Borrower ID is specified. You can, however,
enter in either the First or Last name, or both, and then choose
the borrower from a list (If there are multiple occurances).
- The system will then ask you to confirm the action, if yes
the borrower is deleted, otherwise the database is unchanged and
the "Remove Borrower" is closed returning you to your
original state.
Example:
Suppose you wish to delete the borrower "Khyron Overlord".
- Click on the "Borrower Administration" menu.
- Select "Remove a Borrower" from the available options.
- Move the mouse into the "First Name" column and
click on the left mouse button and enter Khyron. If there is more
than one match, you can either select the borrower from the list,
or you can enter Overlord into the Last Name field, and select
from the listing. If you enter the Borrower ID, you will get
one unique match, and can proceed.
- Click on the Borrower in the results window, and then click
on the delete button.
- Answer click on Yes to delete the borrower.
Error Messages:
- As with the Search for Borrower, there are no error messages.
If the fields don't match a borrower, then nothing is displayed
in the dialog box.
