SquidSoft
Inc. - GUIDOs
Getting Started |
When
GUIDOs is launched, the user is presented with the logon menu. It contains
two fields, username and password. In order to log on to the system, the
user has to enter his/her username and password followed by clicking on
the OK button. Once the OK button is pressed, it starts the authorization
process. If the user clicks on the Cancel button, both entries will be
cleared.
If the user has entered an invalid combination of username and password, it results in a dialogue, saying "Invalid Username or Password," being displayed. To return to the logon menu, the user has to click on to the "OK" button.
Once the user has successfully logged onto the GUIDOs system, the logon window will be replaced by the main menu window. The user can carry out all functions that he/she has access to.
This is a clear illustration showing how to log in to the system.
For security reason, it is good practice to change the password regularly.
To change password, the user clicks on the "Password" menu item on the main menu.
This
results in a "Change Password" window being displayed. It contains
three fields - old password, new password and verify new. For authorization
purpose, the user has to enter his/her password that is currently in use
into the field "old password." The user may enter the new password
he/she wants to use to both "new password" and "verify new"
fields. This ensures that the user has entered the correct password that
he/she intends to use. Then, the user clicks on the OK button to process
such changes, or he/she may click on the Cancel button to cancel such changes.
If the user has entered an invalid password to the "old password" field or mismatched passwords to "new password" and "verify new", this results in displaying a message box being displayed which informs the user that failure to change the password.
Does the user need to start over the entire password changing process if the user has confirmed the mismatched password ?
When the user has finished using GUIDOs, he/she has to go through the logging out process to prevent from losing data. This can be done by clicking on the "Logout" menu item from the main menu. All functions that are currently using will be automatically exited before logging out. Then, the logon window will be presented.
Will the user be asked to save any changes he or she made?
