Final Evaluation - Lessons Learned |
We felt that the whole group learned that putting a project together involves more planning and paperwork before the implementation phase than they anticipated. Furthermore, the importance of teamwork, trust, and communication was gleaned from the various activities we were involved in. The fact that a "leaderless" structure (while we had team "motivators", and subgroup leaders, and a management team, each member of the group had an equal say in matters), or actually a co-operative "revolving management" structure, proved to be a success in our group (versus the more traditional hierarchical structures), shows there is more than one way to complete a project, and that smaller groups tend to be more productive. The importance of teamwork and communication between the subgroups were emphasized, and realized throughout the course of this project. The importance of communicating with the customer group (as aforementioned) was also learnt at the conclusion of this project (it is vital to the survival of a "real" project). We thought that using the web as a means of communicating within our group and with the customer group was a step in the right direction in achieving this end. |
