Adding a District Record

To Add a District Record

  1. Press the Add button located near the top left portion of the Disticts interface. This will clear the form and allow the user to enter data into the fields.
  2. Enter information into fields. By placing the mouse over a field and pressing the left mouse button the uesr can then enter data into the field. DO NOT PRESS ENTER. DOING SO WILL CAUSE THE RECORD TO BE UPDATED.

    Suppose that a new residential neighborhood has opened in the city and it cannot be placed in any other district. Then the system must have a new district added to the sytem and pretend that the new district will be called "Happy Valley"
    Assuming that the Add button has been pressed then the system will automatically generate a district number but the user will have to enter a district name in the field labeled district name.
    Click on the district name field and enter Happy Valley
    If the user desires they can enter the population of the district.
    Enter 1024 in the field labeled population.

  3. Click OK to update the system or press Cancel to forget the action.

You have just completed the addition of a district to the system. Also contain within the District interface are two other fields. The Household field stores the number of households being serviced by Northam and the Retail field stores the number of retail outlets being serviced by Northam. These fields are just form information purposes and cannot be altered. The system automatically generates the values that appear in these fields.
