Disadvantages of Microcosm

• Links in Microcosm can have anchors in any position in any data format. This creates problems for Microcosm unaware viewers since it is not always possible to follow a link. An example of this is linking to a specific frame in an animation.
• Since the links are displayed as buttons it is not always clear to the user what a link is referring to.
• Links in linkbases refer to absolute locations in documents. This creates problems when documents are edited.
