Our office has been receiving a large amount of junk fax mail in the past few months, and as a result our fax paper costs have doubled. Management has decided to purchase a fax modem which will be used to filter incoming faxes. The modem will be plugged into the computer of the office's only secretary.
Faxing is currently performed with a fax machine and is handled by a single secretary. The secretary distributes incoming faxes around the office and handles the task of faxing outgoing materials. Once the modem and software is set up, the secretary is expected to use the software to filter out the junk and to decide what material shall be printed. The secretary will also continue to fax outgoing documents.
The fax machine will be retained for outgoing paper faxes, however, some employees have expressed an interest in having their documents sent in the original digital format. All digital documents are in Microsoft Word and Excel formats.
The decision to purchase a particular fax modem has been made and now a final decision must be made on which fax software package to use.
