Visual Programming
Introduction
Visual Programming (VP) is a method of programming specific applications using
strictly visual constructs. The term "Visual Programming" has different
meanings to different people, but true visual programming involves the
contstruct of executable graphics with no hiddent text. With this
idea, many of they mainstream visual programming languages would not
qualify! Therefore a thorough examination of what is and what isn't a
visual programming language is necessary.
This document will also analyze several true visual programming languages (VPL),
the uses these specific VPL's in real world situations, the environment that
is needed for VP, the advantages and disadvantages of VPLs, and what possible
future might be instore for VP.
