CPSC-547 Project #3
- My Results and Experiences on WebGrid
1. Exploration
- I used my interest in Rodeo as the subject for my grid. I
decided to use only those events seen at the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
I believe that there are several things that distinguish each
event, Danger, Timed or Rough Stock and Men or Ladies. I then
added more items to try and further class them. The grid created
basically places the Rough Stock events together and the Timed
events together, because all are very similar. Ladies barrel
racing is off by itself but on the timed event side.
- My initial impression of WebGrid is that it can help you hone
in on certain ideas but I kept thinking I should use constructs
that I had already used. It seemed that those constructs should
have classified the items. Maybe this is showing me similarities
that I didn't realize before. I think that some help is required
to make WebGrids use much easier. For example what is a construct?
I am not sure how to interpret the resulting graphs. I liked
the triad approach to distinguishing items. It really makes you
think when the items get very close.

2. Elicitation of constructs on CPSC-547 topics
- I basically used general characteristics that were appropriate
for several of the topics. I found that broad band networks and
the information highway were hard to distinguish from each other.
The topics were very broad in their range of items they handle.
They are not really related.
- The grid basically places the language related items at one
end and the networks and systems to the other end.
- My grid seems o be similar in ways to the original but the
constructs used are different.

3. Elicitation of constructs on your presentation topic
- All of the constructs seem to be interrelated to the others,
none are clearly the same as the others. But they all hold some
similarity.
- I don't quite understand the analyze.
