    The following is a list of notes from various speaker sessions. The content of speaker presentations are summarized using Norman's (1980) Twelve Issues for Cognitive Science.

    1. Jerome Durlek, October 2, 1995

      Jerome Durlak is the Associate Director of CulTech, Research Director of Intercom Ontario, and Professor of Mass Communications at York University. He has written extensively on interactive media, communication networks, new communication technologies, machine mediated learning, computer gaming and simulation, distance learning and urban design.

    2. Jim Carroll, CA, October 2, 1995

      Jim Carroll is a co-author of The Canadian Internet Handbook. His consulting firm advises international corporations on the strategic use of the Internet as a tool for competitive advantage and economic efficiency. A Chartered Accountant with twelve years of experience in the world's largest public accounting firm, Carroll has a solid business and financial background in all industry sectors.

    3. AGT Forum, October 4, 1995

      Speakers:

      Anne Branscomb, a communications lawyer, author of Who Owns Information, (Basic Books 1994), and President of the Raven Group, currently research associate of the Harvard University Program on Information Resources Policy.

      William Melody, founding director of the Centre for International Research on Communication and Information Technologies (CIRCIT) in Melbourne, Australia. CIRCIT is an interdisciplinary policy research centre which examines the economic and social implications of new communication and information technologies.

      Lee Chen is a Doctoral Student in Computer Science. His presentation was on Living Systems, Collective Intelligence and Awareness on the World Wide Web.
