Since CERN is a VM site, one perfectly viable option would be to
use Revised Listserv on CERNVM.  I realize such a suggestion
is probably anathema to this crowd, but Listserv is a mature product
that provides automated archives and fast searching of said archives
(although the search language is admittedly somewhat baroque).

Another option would be Unix Listprocessor (nee Unix Listserv) by
Anastasios Kotsikonas (tasos@cs-mail.bu.edu) which I believe is
available at no chage.

BTW, to the list -- I see once again we're getting multiple
(apparently three) copies of every note to be sent to www-talk.  This
is starting to get surreal -- Tim, can you install a working mail
exploder for www-talk?  Otherwise, we may as well just all move to
Usenet where things are known to work...
