Greetings PCP Discussion Group Members:
I am a program evaluation officer in a municipal health
department with my main research interests being related to tobacco use
prevention interventions in public health. I am not at all well versed in
personal constructs theory, but I have been wondering if this theoretical
approach may be useful with regard to one particular project I am
involved with currently. What we are seeking to explore are the
experiences of women during and following pregnancy and how these
experiences may inform the type of tailored intervention (i.e., as in
Prochaska & DiClemente) most appropriate to alter/inform tobacco use during
this period. The questions I have then relate to the applicability of PCP
to health behaviour generally and any general resources available in this
area. All suggestions and comments will be most welcome.
Thanks in advance, Alan Hotte.
