Yes, my changes came out a lot longer than I thought they would, too.
That is, it looked like it would be just a minor edit, but then in
perusing the document, there were lots of cross references and
nearly redundant copies of the same material. If you look hard at the
diffs, a lot of times what I did was remove redundant material so that
we could say what we were going to say about character sets only once.
