CERN has its traditional power-saving salary-saving shutdown over Christmas
and the new year. During this time the WWW server on info.cern.ch should
(I hope!) continue running and still be connected with the outside world.
The basic web overviews by subject etc will therefore be available, as will
be anonymous FTP and telnet services.

The computer center however and the servers in the ECP division will
shut down, so some CERN-related information will be unavailable for all or part
of the period from today to the 5th January. Please accept our apologies for
such missing services.

A merry festive season and a productive 1993 to all our readers!

	Tim Berners-Lee
