Subject: UPDATE: Warchie
Date: Mon, 24 May 1993 09:30:47 +0100
From: Martijn Koster <m.koster@nexor.co.uk>
Version 1.2 of Warchie, a World Wide Web to Archie gateway,
has been installed and tested on the NeXor Server:
http://web.nexor.co.uk/welcome.html
This new version has an option of sorting the archie results by
date, and has matured from a single file program into a full
distribution. It has been running happily over the last couple
of weeks, and I've had no complaints (then again, I've had no
comments at all :-)
What I'm looking for is people to run it near CERN and in the
States (or anywhere else!): that would reduce network bandwidth
and improve performance... anybody want to give it a try?
For details see http://web.nexor.co.uk/warchie/setup.html
Incidentally, does anybody know where in the web a URL
http://web.nexor.co.uk:1993/archie HTTP/1.0 <-- NO!
appears? I keeps popping up in my logs, but it is invalid in the
context of Warchie... If you want a link to a Warchie server use
one listed in
http://web.nexor.co.uk/warchie/servers.html
Any comments/suggestions are more than appreciated.
