The 2.11 release of the library has a bunch of bug fixes (especially
with respect to binary transfers).  It compiles on the
usual set of unix platforms, but is not extensively tested..
people have been asking for a more up-to-date version
so there it is. There are a lot more thins due in the
next release including the W5's wish list.
