Subject: running gopher(+) and http on the same server
Status: RO
Are there any known problems with running an HTTP 0.9 (or 1.0) server and a
gopher or gopher+ server on the same machine pointing to the same
information sources, either directly or through symbolic links? I have an
HTTP server that I've been running for quite a while and I've seen gopher+
setups, but I have no experience with running both simultaneously. I have
no idea if there are issues with file locking, etc.
Anyone with suggestions, hints, gotchas, etc. plese email to me. I'll
summarize for the list. If WAIS, or anon-ftp might also have effects, let
me know about them as well.
