Visual Programming
Introduction
Connection to Object Oriented Programming
The idea of Visual Programming Languages is also connected with the idea of
Object-Oriented programming. A visual icon or syntax can be though of as an
individual object that can be used repetitively in the programming
environment. Each object can be one component of a necessarily desired
action, however, there may also be the ability to combine objects to
achieve highly specific and varied results.
These combinable objects are like jigsaw puzzles, in that only certain pieces
can fit together to form new objects, and they will not connect if they are
not allowed to. In fact, many languages use a jigsaw like interface to show
which pieces fit together.
