Romance

I have followed the discussion about constructs and `romance'
with much interest and have hesitated to comment because of the large
gaps in my knowledge of the PCP perspective in the area.
However, I believe there are a number of relevant and important
points to be made from a philosophical perspective. One of them is the
point made by Joseph Campbell in his book `The psychology of
romantic love'. It is that Western society fails to distinguish between
`romance', the subjective experience, and `love', an act of the will. This
failure, a failure with which PCP is well equipped to deal, has had
disastrous consequences.
