Dear colleagues,

I am currently undertaking a six month research posting as part of a Msc
in Occupational Psychology (Institute of work Psychology, Sheffield.
Since the beginning of March I've been working along side a team from the
Institute whose primary focus has been examining the effects of work
re-organisation (particularly team working) on employees' attitudes.
well-being and performance. Research is being conducted within a modern
manufacturing organisation.

I am hoping to investigate lay theories of team working as experienced by
operators on the shop floor, as well as related issues such as
strategic/role orientation and empathy.

My biggest problem at this stage is that I am talking to employees as
they work. Unfortunately I can not think of a satisfactory PCP procedure
to employ. I am, therefore, keen to hear from anyone who has carried
out, or knows of research carried out under similar circumstances.

On a more general note, I would also be grateful if anyone could point in
the direction of PCP reserach that has been carried out within a modern
manufacturing environment.

Many Thanks

Dave Webb
