COMOTION
=20
Having just turned on the computer, I read from Malcolm Cross a view of =
emotions as constructs which are also events or things we sense. I am =
wondering whether we need to redefine the term emotion. Is it really =
useful? After all, we don't have to stick to historical matters or =
definitions. Kelly redefined resistance, therefore, in keeping with the =
alternativist position, we mught make some progress if we reconstrue =
"emotion". I wonder whether it is worth revisiting physiology again. =
Constructs are not simply cognitive; I suspect that certain constructs =
are charged by physological reactions which are traditionally called =
emotions. Didn't James Mancuso put foreward a theory of love consistent =
my view!
