[i was going to comment on the official name of ISO 8879, but
Jim Mason has already done that for me. there are about a
half dozen or so occurrences in the spec to change.]

2.6, page 14, the public identifer for -//IETF//DTD HTML...
still shows "2.0" in the public text display version field.
i realize this is a question of syncing my comments on the
DTD with the spec, but i thought i'd point it out.

2.6.3, page 16, to avoid requiring the use of " in
attribute values (since " works just fine if the ' is used
as the delimeter), i'd like to see

To put quotes inside of quotes, you use the character
representation " as in:

changed to [merely an addition of "may"]:

To put quotes inside of quotes, you may use the character
representation " as in:

2.15.6, page 40, last sentence of the NOTE,

change:
Unfortunately, this causes problems for fields with long text
values as SGML limits the length of attribute literals to only
240 characters. The HTML 2.0 DTD allows up to 1024 characters.

to
Unfortunately, this causes problems for fields with long text
values. SGML's default (Reference Quantity Set) limits the length
of attribute literals to only 240 characters. The HTML 2.0
SGML declaration increases the limit to 1024 characters.

2.16.2, page 42, Carriage Return

It says:
Interpreted as a word space in all contexts.
but what about PRE?

5.1.1 Sample SGML Open style entity catalog, page 57

the formatting for the "possible catalog entries:" is bad. sorry,
i should have indicated <PRE> for this element or whatever. in fact,
they might as well be formatted in monospace like the rest of the
"code examples". again, they are:

PUBLIC "ISO 8879:1986//ENTITIES Added Latin 1//EN" "iso-lat1.gml"
PUBLIC "-//ACME DTD Writers//DTD General Report//EN" report.dtd
ENTITY "graph1" "graphics\graph1.cgm"

also, assuming that Dan makes the changes i suggested to the public
identifiers, they need to be changed in this section too.

5.2, the DTD

please be sure the public id shown in the comments reflects the latest.
i won't make other comments, since i gather Dan's latest isnt in this draft.

5.2.1, ISO latin.

as i commented in a message a few minutes ago, my only remaining (minor)
concern is with the copyright and the use of %ISOlat1;.

5.3ff. check the public identifiers.
