Data size for Kanji etc. I personally do not believe that
any single encoding (or perhaps even coded characer set) will
prove optimal for all situations. While UTF-8 is useful for
many situations, we should allow other encodings to be
used as well. While I am a strong proponent of Unicode,
I have never said it should be the *only* thing we can
use. The same things applies here.
