New release of libwww
A new release of libwww, the public domain code library for
W3 clients and servers, is now available as
<ftp://info.cern.ch/pub/www/src/WWW*2.06.tar.Z>
Also released at the same time is the httpd HTTP server,
and the "www" line mdoe browser.
Changes are documented in the web. The main ones are:
- Improved handling of WAIS access, including caching of
wais server descriptions in /usr/wsrc.
- Directory listings (server anmd client) for local files
are now separated into subdirectories and files,
and sorted alphabetically.
A number of bugs have been removed. Binaries
of www and httpd are available for Sun, Decstation,
HP, rs6000, next
