Introduction

Before the birth of Internet, the Department of Defence of the United States of America designed the ARPAnet. The goal of this network was to permit the communication between nodes even if nuclear war occurred. It started with 3 nodes and the institutes used it to exchange academic ideas. Over the years, many more joined the net and after the ARPAnet project expired, the name was then changed to the Internet.
